What's your take on politicians' pay?
Ok, so there are mixed responses over ministerial pay-cuts over here.
What do you think about a 37% pay-cut, disregarding the original pay first.
Oh come on, 37% pay-cut is not a small amount no matter what they are originally receiving. It is substantial!
No matter what, I wouldn't take a pay-cut that much! That's unless I'm a politician (because I'll have to comply).
Singapore's ministers are the highest paid in the world, no doubt about it. And running the country is not like the easiest chore in the world. Yea, they get paid astronomical figures annually and enjoy various benefits, but does those netizens really understand what those ministers' jobs actually entice? I myself have not much clue about it, but I'm thinking it's of course x10000000 more challenging than what normal citizens do. Apparently, many netizens think that they can run our country better than the government does. ):
And it's not like they are providing any constructive comments on how the country should be governed, except that everything should be cheaper. That's not a very clever suggestion I have to say.
Joining the politics means sacrificing certain things. Shouldn't these people who join the politics be compensated for their losses? Well, it may not be fair to say such things in front of the lower income family, but this is life. Don't expect to see all passionate-to-serve-the-community people joining politics just for their passion. Money is also a source of motivation. Oh, and in fact many researches have shown that monetary incentives are a strong source of motivation. Everyone works for money, the difference is the amount we receive for our work.
If people are not satisfied with the remuneration, they should be upgrading themselves and equip themselves with better skills in order to meet the demand for more skilled employees right.
That said, poor politicians, No matter what you do, you get jeered at. ):

Korea trip was F U N.
Because it was winter and it was snowing. YAY. Apparently it was my first time seeing snow. OKAY. :D
I'm not going to describe about the lengthy trip. haha because it'll really be lengthy. T_T
Whatever the case is, I can say that I got sick towards the end of the trip. Which totally ruined my shopping days. Which means, I didn't get many things for myself. ): I'm so regretful. T_T
And I am sorry for myself. hahahaha, so the lesson learnt is I am not going to delay all my shopping till the last days. DAMN. hahaha.
